Ross McGowan

Ross McGown LGBanstead Downs Tour Professional Ross McGowan finished in 2nd place to Lee Westwood in the European Tour's final tournament of 2009 in Dubai, taking him to 12th place in the European rankings at the end of the season.

Only a month earlier, Ross achieved the biggest victory of his career in October 2009, winning the Madrid Masters with a score of 25 under par, including a stunning third round of 60.

This victory followed a run of good form in his second year on the European Tour, which he joined succesfully in 2008, finishing 70th in the Order of Merit in his rookie year. He originally qualified for the Tour by finishing 2nd in the 2007 Challenge Tour, his first year as a professional after beating Oliver Fisher in the final to win the 2006 English Amateur Championship. Ross' outstanding record in Europe follows his graduation from the University of Tennessee.
